The aim of the instructions is twofold: to provide tools for creating a respectful, safe, encouraging, self-aware and transparent culture for your organisation so that everyone would feel like they can participate in the activities and to promote an increase in the wellbeing of the entire student community. The instructions cover the promotion of equality and related issues diversely and critically. They help you examine student culture from a broad perspective that includes problematising discriminatory traditions by highlighting structural problems, for instance. The instructions are not meant to present a single, correct way to conduct equality activities – instead, their goal is to make you think and examine your own activities from different perspectives and to help you both understand differing viewpoints and experiences and take them into account in your daily activities.
